|Scholarships and Bursaries|
This bursary is to assist post-secondary education.
Who is eligible?
Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal student parishioners currently in their graduating year or within one year of their graduation (either at a high school or home school setting) who will be attending a Canadian post-secondary institution to pursue a course of study leading to a degree or diploma from an accredited community college or university of their choice.
The applicant’s studies (attendance at university or college) must commence within one year of the receipt of the award.
$400.00 will be awarded each year.
The presentation will be made at the recipient’s graduation ceremony by a CWL member.
Announcement and congratulations by the CWL will follow at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish.
Applications are available during the months of March and April either from the Bursary Committee chair or from the parish website.
The complete application and supporting documents must be addressed to the OLMM CWL Bursary Committee Chair and received no later than April 30th. They can be sent by mail or dropped off in the CWL mail slot at the church.
Please note that no return name or address should be on the outside of the envelope.
RECEIPT OF AWARD
The recipient of the bursary will be announced no later than May 31st in the same year.
Upon acceptance to university or college, the bursary recipient must provide a copy of the acceptance letter to the OLMM CWL. Following this a cheque will be issued to the recipient.
The following documents must be included with your application.
1) Letter of recommendation from a teacher at your school
For home school students a letter of recommendation from someone who knows you but is not related to you.
2) Letter of recommendation from the parish priest.
3) Photocopy of Baptismal Certificate if you were not baptized at OLMM parish.
4) Copy of transcript of you current mid-term or final marks.
5) Letter from the applicant outlining how you demonstrate Christian values in your life.

Please see Sens Foundation Scholarship Program application form attached. This bursary will be awarded to one (1) successful graduating student from CDSBEO that will be attending Algonquin College. Please forward all completed application forms directly to Guidance prior to April 28, 2017. A board level committee will review the applications and submit the successful candidate’s application directly to Algonquin College.
